EDF Energy – Annual Sustainability Performance Report

We were asked by Bristol agency 375, to produce the animated content as part of the EDF performance report for 2010.

The objective was to bring to life EDF Energy’s vision of ‘Leading the energy change’ and effectively communicate its sustainability performance for 2010 to all stakeholders.

The report and video in full is available to view here, and with seamless continuity between the campaign from the team at 375, and our animation, the results proved to be very positive.

New X Factor Titles 2011

We had a little hand in producing elements for this years X Factor title sequence. Jump Design asked for a realistic 3d composition of the Earth for both wide and tight shots, where Jump composited into the final sequence. The globe was produce with several passes and varying degrees of control, as we had to edit the POV for the titles of other X Factor countries. You can see the American version here, and of course keep up with all the goss, and view the UK version on the itv player.

Freelance Animator Reel 2011!!!!

The time has finally come! We have carefully cooked together work from the last year or so, plus a few golden nuggets, and out pops the new 2011 reel.. Having had a great year, and being occupied with some interesting projects, the collection of work got put on the backburner some what, but the wait is over! Hope you enjoy our new work, and awesome accompaniment, with special thanks to Alex Metric, his label and publishers for permission to use the music.

I was shown this hilarious video, and like most, found the blower fish had me in stitches every time he did his tang. Not only an awsome music vid and tune, but some magic 3d work to enjoy from effects masters FramestoreCFC I believe.?… Don’t know how i ever missed this on releases a few years back. Enjoy those quivering beat boxing lips….

Canon Stereoscopic 3d adventure….

Working along side our esteemed friends and colleagues Hurricane Media, we have produced stereoscopic 3d content to promote a new Canon Stereo 3d enabled projector system. With an insanely tight turnaround, we produced 3 animated sequences in true stereo 3d. Some serious hours and all nighters nearly took us down…, but we prevailed!

Stereoscopic content is a labour, resource and time intensive process due to being a developing medium, so many positive lessons learnt…

We gained valuable knowledge and experience through consultations from Inition in London, who are front runners and the ‘go to people’ for anything Stereoscopic 3d in the UK.

We will be attending the Paris leg of the Canon global Expo’s on the 11-12 Oct to view the work in all its glory!.

Its been a long road, but Rob Bennetts short Film Gojira Suit is almost complete. Here are some effects shots (minus audio) we’ve worked on. Full of lovely green light!

Am looking forward to its release, and want to wish Director Rob Bennett every success.

Muse at Glastonbury

Its good to see the Muse lads are still using the visual’s for their tune ‘Super Massive Black Hole’, that Dan helped produce in conjunction with ‘Creative Saint’ in London.

It was originally produced for their Absolution tour 3 years ago, and was revised for the Wembly Stadium shows in 2008. It has since stood the test of time, and is still used as one of the most eye catching visuals in the set.

Great treat to see it on the BBC highlights show!. If still available, you can catch it on the BBC iPlayer.

Madcatz RAT Gaming mice…

After the success of our promotional videos for the launch of the ‘Madcatz Eclipse‘ product line, we were asked to produce more promotional videos for the launch of the RAT gaming mice. Now these are the mice of all mice! Didn’t know such powerful devices exist, but they do, and they were a great subject to work on and produce 3 videos for. The videos were played at the CeBit 2010 in Germany, and on the new ‘Madcatz Cyborg’ website. Gojira Suit – London Film School short…

FA will be supplying some of effects shots for Rob Bennets short film ‘Gojira Suit’. Although completion date is still up in the air, it will be played across all major UK film festivals. It is being edited by Paul O’Connor of Mechanical Mouse in Bristol, and is currently in post production. Watch this space for further info and news on the production.
